The sole purpose of the Committee on Hospitals & Institutions is to bring the message of Cocaine Anonymous to addicts in hospitals and institutions. The institutions served may include, but are not limited to: correctional facilities, sanatoriums, detox units, juvenile detention centres, exit homes and government or private shelters. Hospitalization can be voluntary or involuntary.
The Committee is organised under the Ninth Tradition of Cocaine Anonymous, which states: "C.A., as such, should never be organized; but we can create joints or service commissions directly accountable to those they serve."
H&I meetings are held at the invitation of the Hospital or Institution, always attentive to the warning "Cooperation, not affiliation! "
